1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

Depending on how you use the site, you may provide information such as your name, username, email address, account credentials, contact information, professional information, discussion posts, replies, form submissions, or other information you choose to submit.

Discussion account passwords are stored as password hashes rather than readable passwords.

Website and usage information

When you use the site, our hosting systems and service providers may process technical and usage information such as pages requested, referring pages, browser or device type, date and time of access, cookie or session identifiers, and network information used for security, operation, and analytics.

Discussion and community activity

Discussion titles, posts, replies, usernames, timestamps, and other information intentionally submitted to public discussion areas may be publicly visible and may be indexed by search engines.

2. Social Sign-In and Google User Data

When social sign-in is available and you choose to use it, Florida Property Seekers may receive limited account information from the provider in order to authenticate you, create or connect your FPS discussion account, and return you to the feature you were using.

Google Sign-In

If you choose to sign in with Google, FPS intends to request only the minimum information needed for account authentication, using standard OpenID Connect sign-in permissions. This may include your Google account identifier, email address, email verification status, and basic profile information such as your name or profile image if Google provides it.

Google user information received through sign-in is used only to provide or improve user-facing FPS account and authentication features, maintain account security, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations when required. FPS does not sell Google user data or use Google sign-in information for interest-based advertising.

Our use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

FPS does not need to retain Google access tokens for unrelated background access to your Google account. Any temporary authentication credentials used during sign-in are handled only as needed to complete authentication and maintain the FPS account connection.

Facebook or other sign-in providers

If additional social sign-in providers such as Facebook are offered, FPS may receive the provider-specific account identifier and the limited profile or email information you authorize for authentication. The same general principles described in this policy apply: the information is used to provide the requested FPS account feature, maintain security, and connect you to your FPS discussion account.

3. How We Use Information

We may use information collected through the site to:

• operate and maintain FloridaPropertySeekers.com;
• create, authenticate, and manage discussion accounts;
• publish and display discussions and replies submitted by members;
• respond to questions, requests, applications, and contact forms;
• provide account, discussion, and service-related notifications;
• prevent spam, fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and security incidents;
• understand site usage and improve content, navigation, and features;
• administer directories, professional participation, and related site services; and
• comply with applicable legal obligations and protect the site and its users.

Creating a discussion account does not by itself subscribe you to marketing email.

4. Cookies, Sessions, and Analytics

FPS uses cookies or similar browser storage where needed to operate the website, maintain secure discussion sessions, remember necessary settings, and protect forms and accounts.

The site also uses Google Analytics to understand general website traffic and usage. Analytics services may process information such as pages visited, browser or device information, referral information, and network information in order to provide aggregate or statistical reporting about site use.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking necessary session cookies may prevent account sign-in or other site features from working correctly.

5. When Information May Be Shared

FPS does not sell personal information or Google sign-in data to advertisers or data brokers.

Information may be shared with service providers only as reasonably necessary to operate the site or provide requested features. These providers may include website hosting, email delivery, analytics, authentication providers, security services, and payment processors.

Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, investigate abuse or security issues, enforce site rules or terms, or protect the rights and safety of FPS, its users, or others.

6. Payments and Third-Party Services

When a payment or subscription is handled through a third-party payment provider such as PayPal, payment credentials are submitted to that provider rather than directly to FPS. FPS may receive transaction information such as payment status, transaction or subscription identifiers, payer information supplied by the provider, and dates needed to administer the associated service.

Third-party websites, social networks, authentication providers, and payment services have their own privacy practices. This Privacy Policy applies to Florida Property Seekers and does not replace the policies of those third parties.

7. Data Retention and Security

FPS retains information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate accounts and site features, preserve the integrity of public discussions, maintain security and administrative records, resolve disputes, and meet legal or operational obligations.

We use reasonable technical and administrative safeguards appropriate to a small community website. However, no internet transmission, hosting environment, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

8. Access, Correction, and Data Deletion Requests

You may contact FPS to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with your FPS account. We may need to verify the request before making account-related changes.

Public discussion content may be retained where reasonably necessary to preserve the continuity and integrity of conversations, comply with legal obligations, prevent abuse, or maintain accurate site records. Where appropriate, account-identifying information may be removed or changed while discussion content remains.

You may also manage or revoke a social sign-in connection through the applicable Google, Facebook, or other provider account settings. Revoking provider access does not automatically delete your separate FPS account or public discussion content.

9. Children's Privacy

Florida Property Seekers is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to FPS, please contact us so the matter can be reviewed.

10. Changes to This Policy

FPS may update this Privacy Policy as website features, service providers, legal requirements, or data practices change. The effective date displayed at the top of this page will be updated when material revisions are published.
